Brand Mini - Square Works, Bristol | Ruth-Ellen Davis
One of the best parts of working with brand photography clients on a retainer is watching their businesses grow and evolve – and Ruth is a perfect example of just that.
Ruth first came to me as a former Beauty Editor for The Guardian, looking to launch her new venture The Beauty Bolt – a straight-talking, no-fuss skincare platform for busy women. Over the course of her brand retainer, we captured everything she needed and more: relaxed, authentic imagery shot at home in Bristol that felt personal and true to her new brand voice.
But like many of my clients, once she’d dipped her toe into the world of brand photography, new opportunities came knocking – fast.
Not long after, Ruth messaged to say: “Something amazing has happened...” She’d been head-hunted by a major beauty company and suddenly found herself carving out a new space as a freelance beauty writer. It was an exciting pivot, but it meant her visuals needed to grow with her. She needed a more polished, slightly more corporate feel that would still reflect her personality, but also resonate with this new audience and client base.
For speed and ease, I suggested Ruth book a double slot on one of my upcoming Bristol Brand Photography Mini Sessions. These are designed for exactly this – business owners who want simple, stylish brand imagery with minimal planning and zero fuss, but still with all the quality and professionalism you'd expect from a full shoot.
We’d already worked together before, so I knew how much fun Ruth is on set (and how tricky it would be to stop ourselves laughing too much!). She arrived perfectly prepped, having read the shoot guide word for word – which always makes a huge difference.
The result? A fresh new set of brand images that feel elevated, editorial and totally her – but with the edge and clarity she needs for this next exciting chapter.
If you’re thinking of rebranding, changing direction, or just want to make sure your photos match the level of your business – a mini session might be exactly what you need. Dates are on my journal.
