COOMBE TRENCHARD WEDDING - Edward & Leah

Elopements are fast becoming one of my favorite types of days. Don't get me wrong, I love an elaborate celebration, but an intimate wedding day can be so much more…intimate.

This pair had quite a back-story, and with family on opposite sides of the world, a huge celebration just felt way too complicated. And when they really looked at what they wanted on their wedding day, it was simply each other.

When I say simply each other…PLUS the 4 bridesmaids on Zoom who'd stayed up all night in Alabama just to watch their best friend get married! And the “crew” of 3 photographers all documenting their Coombe Trenchard Wedding.

One of the greatest joys of working in the wedding industry is working alongside some incredibly talented artists and creators, and one of these such gems is the gorgeous Giselle Gendre-Michel. Hair and makeup extraordinaire, this woman works her magic with a make-up brush and curling tongs, in the greatest of ways.

Leah's hair is her crowning glory and it's no surprise that with hair like this, there was always going to be a bit of a pink theme to this wedding.

My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw her dress - I'm a sucker for something different and this wedding gown certainly fell under in that category!

A couple’s emotions can be heightened on an intimate wedding day, and I was also overjoyed to be working alongside the fabulous Baxter and Ted who, between us, managed to gently calm and reassure this gorgeous pair.

Edward & Leah had written their own personalized wedding vows - something that's guaranteed to leave me a weeping mess every time!

Unusually, they'd opted for their Coombe Trenchard ceremony to be in the Coach House. I’m a sucker for greenhouse spaces at wedding venues and this space, especially in the summer when all the plants are in full growth, is quite possibly one of my favorites.

Leah and Edward are so demonstrative with each other, and what with that and personalized wedding vows, their ceremony was most definitely an emotional rollercoaster!

As one of the best Devon wedding venues, Coombe Trenchard has so many beautiful spots for wedding photographs that you could spend days photographing there. After a quick glass of champagne (total respect, Edward, for downing that!) we set off on a little adventure. (I’ve been blessed to photograph many weddings at Coombe Trenchard over the years and the place is full of picture perfect locations).

It was such a beautiful hour watching the two of them ride that magical wave of just married-ness.

We headed back to the beautiful Coach House for a fabulous first dance - I mean, who knew you could even do a first dance when there's only two of you?!!

And then finally it was time for canapés in front of the fire, the cutting of the most delicious wedding cake, before sitting down to their wedding breakfast tucked away in the Morning Room.

Edward and Leah - thank you so much for letting me share in your most incredible love story, for being so beautifully connected that you really epitomized love, and, of course, allowing me to document the day you became husband and wife.
