Deer Park Wedding | Devon Wedding Photographer | Georgia and Henry

As a wedding photographer, some venues just become part of your story. And for me, The Deer Park Country House is exactly that. I photographed my first wedding there was over 13 years ago (I know!), and since then I’ve been lucky enough to return again and again to photograph some truly wonderful couples.

It’s a venue that does things properly — not just in terms of aesthetics (though yes, it’s beautiful), but in how the whole team works. Standards are sky high, and everyone genuinely cares about delivering the best possible day for every couple. Over the years I’ve got to know the staff really well — not least because they tend to stick around. Once Deer Park gets under your skin, it’s hard to leave.

Georgia was one of those team members. We shared many a wedding day together, keeping things on track with a quick “Have you seen the Bride?”, “Are the chefs ready?” or “Someone’s dropped a glass on the dancefloor…” — the glamorous behind-the-scenes chat, of course. It was always a pleasure working alongside her, even if we were both usually running in opposite directions.

Fast forward ten years and out of nowhere, her voice on the phone: “You probably don’t remember me, but I remember you…” Even after all that time, she still had me in mind for her wedding photography. I was genuinely blown away!

We met during one of my trips to Devon, and they booked me there and then—no frills, just a mutual knowing. After their pre-shoot, I already had a gut feeling this wedding would be something special.

Georgia and Henry both run family businesses, so they get the importance of high standards and great client service. They’re ultra-professional and do things properly — but without the fuss or ego. Just genuine warmth, brilliant energy, and the kind of people who know how to throw a seriously good party.

And that same easygoing magic ran through the whole day. Their couple shots? Next level. Clearly best friends, they have an effortless connection — the way they laugh together, how at ease they are in each other’s company… it’s everything you hope for when you’re behind the camera.

Georgia and Henry — from staff room chats to standing beside you on your wedding day, camera in hand… what an absolute honour. What a journey. And what a day!

P.S. What a day. What a couple. And what a message to receive afterwards.
